Why we procrastinate important decisions

mind spirit work Dec 03, 2021

Ever find yourself struggling to make important decisions?

Did you wonder why?

Watch this video to hear what we can learn from Steven Bartlett, understand the psychological principles behind why we delay important decisions and learn a framework to help you confidently make important decisions.

Intentional Actions

IT-3 Plan

1. Chunk it

When faced with a significant decision, slice the decision down. This will reduce overwhelm and allow you to take just one step forward.

2. Scale it

Fear of a better option does not come into play when you scale your decisions.

Scale the decision based on predicting future feelings.

For example, how joyful would this decision make me feel? Scale 1-10.

3. Align it

Once you get clear on your north star, it is easier to make important decisions.

Spend the time to clarify what's meaningful to you, then align the decision to your future.

Character challenge

Bravery

If you continually focus on serving others, you will find the courage to make the decision.
